DESCRIPTION:BELMONT PLACE: BETWEEN THE ARCHES WALKING TOUR \nOn this entirely outdoor walking tour you will see many beautiful houses and mansions\, including the homes of Walter & Olive Ann Beech (founders of Beech Aircraft Corporation)\, and William Coleman (the founder of the Coleman Company) as well as Al Derby (the owner of Derby Oil) and Jack Vickers (the owner of Vickers Petroleum Company) along with many others.  In the 1920s and 1930s\, Belmont Place was Wichita's most affluent neighborhood\, and home to our city's movers and shakers.  This tour will show you where they lived\, share some of the details of their exciting lives\, and explain how they shaped the development of our city. \nThis walking tour lasts about 1.5 to 2 hours\, and you will walk about eight blocks.  This tour will begin next to the Belmont Arch at E. Douglas & N. Belmont Place (NOT ALLEN HOUSE). Out of respect for our neighbors\, we ask that you do NOT take photos of these personal residences.  These are private homes\, and still being lived in\, and we are sure you understand that we must respect their privacy. \nYou will receive an order confirmation by email and will be added to the reservation list on completion of your order. DESCRIPTION:On this entirely outdoor walking tour\, we will highlight the century-old mausoleums of Maple Grove Cemetery and tell the stories of some of the pioneers and early Wichita leaders who are laid to rest in this historic\, 60-acre site. The walking tour will last about 1.5 hours and will tell the stories of an early pioneer and buffalo hunter\, a stagecoach driver\, a blacksmith\, a Civil War soldier\, and many others. \nThe walking tour lasts approximately 1.5 to 2 hours\, and you will walk the equivalent of about 8 city blocks. The tour begins at Maple Grove Cemetery\, at 1000 N. Hillside\, in front of the Maple Grove Abbey (the largest building in the cemetery.) Walking tour guests are asked to park in front of Maple Grove Abbey\, on the east side of the lane. Out of respect for those buried here\, we ask that no dogs participate in the walking tour. \nYou will receive an order confirmation by email and will be added to the reservation list on completion of your order. We do not mail out physical tickets. \nTours move at a leisurely pace\, with short periods of standing at designated tour stops. Considerable walking\, unpaved areas\, and uneven ground may be expected. Sensible shoes are strongly encouraged. Because much of the walking on a cemetery tour is on unpaved\, and sometimes uneven ground\, those with limited mobility or balance issues may find it challenging. No restroom facilities are available on this entirely outdoor walking tour. \nThis tour is written and provided by the docents at Frank Lloyd Wright's Allen House and is part of the Architectural Series.

DESCRIPTION:COLLEGE HILL WALKING TOUR \nOn this entirely outdoor walking tour\, you will see the homes of a movie star\, an oil baron\, a Kansas governor\, and much more. The tour will focus on the architecture and the people who built and owned these homes from the 1890's to the 1930's.  The tour lasts approximately 1.5 to 2 hours\, and you will walk about eight blocks. This tour will begin on the Douglas Avenue sidewalk\, in front of St James Episcopal Church at 3750 E. Douglas and end at Blessed Sacrament Church at Douglas and Quentin. \nOut of respect for our neighbors\, we kindly ask that you DO NOT take photographs of personal residences.  These are private homes and still being lived in and we must respect their privacy. \nYou will receive an order confirmation by email and will be added to the reservation list upon the completion of your order.  We do not mail out physical tickets. \nTour moves at a leisurely pace with short periods of standing at designated tour stops.  Considerable walking\, unpaved areas\, uneven sidewalks\, brick streets and cross traffic can be expected.  Weather conditions are highly variable and beyond our control.

The walking tour will last about 1.5 hours and will tell the stories of an early pioneer and buffalo hunter\, a stagecoach driver\, a blacksmith\, a Civil War soldier\, and many others. \nThe walking tour lasts approximately 1.5 to 2 hours\, and you will walk the equivalent of about 8 city blocks. The tour begins at Maple Grove Cemetery\, at 1000 N. Hillside\, in front of the Maple Grove Abbey (the largest building in the cemetery.) Walking tour guests are asked to park in front of Maple Grove Abbey\, on the east side of the lane. Out of respect for those buried here\, we ask that no dogs participate in the walking tour. \nYou will receive an order confirmation by email and will be added to the reservation list on completion of your order. We do not mail out physical tickets. \nTours move at a leisurely pace\, with short periods of standing at designated tour stops. Considerable walking\, unpaved areas\, and uneven ground may be expected. Sensible shoes are strongly encouraged. Because much of the walking on a cemetery tour is on unpaved\, and sometimes uneven ground\, those with limited mobility or balance issues may find it challenging. No restroom facilities are available on this entirely outdoor walking tour. \nThis tour is written and provided by the docents at Frank Lloyd Wright's Allen House and is part of the Architectural Series.
