Areas of need:
Tour Docents: lead guided tours for guests during regular public tour times and also private tours on other days. (Public tours are Wednesday-Saturday.)
Room Chaperone: docents attend a particular room within the Allen House during special events and open houses. You would be responsible for educating guests about the particular room you are in and also answering general guest questions. Provide crowd control to protect the house and all it’s important belongings.
Gift Shop Clerks: Volunteers in the gift shop greet all visitors and assist with general questions. They are responsible for merchandise sales, ticket sales and assist the Gift Shop supervisor in all facets. The gift shop is open during all public tours and special events.
Special Events:
Setup/Teardown: Volunteers make special events happen! Includes setting up tables, chairs, IT equipment, etc. Must be able to navigate stairs and carry up to 20 lbs.
Administrative/Clerical:
Newsletter: Volunteers gather information and write articles to be included in our quarterly newsletter. Event photos are also needed.
Holiday Decorating:
Work with Committee to decorate the home the first week of November and then remove decor the second week of January.
