POSTPONED-10:00 AM-Wright Perspectives Mini-Series: Susan Lawrence Dana – the Socialite and Activist Client

June 20 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Free – $20.00

Susan Lawrence Dana – the Socialite and Activist Client.

Susan Lawrence Dana hired Frank Lloyd Wright to build her a home in Springfield, Illinois, on the site of her parents’ home.  The House, now known nationally and internationally as the Dana-Thomas House, was completed in 1904. Susan’s involvement with the extended Lloyd-Jones family began with Wright’s aunts Ellen and Jane, through her support of their Hillside School. The Dana Room at Taliesin attests to her support of Wright’s vision and the friendship they shared. Primary documents include a ledger recording loans made by Dana to the family and correspondence.

Speaker:  Regina Albanese, Executive Director, Dana-Thomas House Foundation

(This will be a Zoom presentation in the living room of the Allen House.  Regina will be presenting from the Dana-Thomas House.)
